FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aurigma is going to strike .NET imaging market by releasing new product Graphics Mill 3.0
Olympia, WA (July 27, 2004) – Aurigma, a software development company specializing in imaging components, claims that their upcoming product Graphics Mill 3.0™ for Microsoft .NET platform will cause a revolution on the .NET imaging market.
There are several reasons we believe this , said Andrew Simontsev, Chief Technical Officer of Aurigma. First of all, we will be the first to offer the unique option of purchasing the source code. This will bring our customers many benefits such as independence from our technical support, high customization possibilities, and many others. Although selling source code is a common practice for certain kinds of components, there are no other imaging component vendors providing the source code for their products.
Another reason we believe this is that Graphics Mill 3.0 is true .NET component , continued Andrew Simontsev. Many vendors claim that they provide 100% managed .NET code, but it is misleading. No imaging components can be 100% managed, otherwise they would have huge problems with performance . Actually such components are often divided into common unmanaged DLLs (or even ActiveX DLLs) with .NET wrappers. This enables the use of DLLs in .NET applications, but leads to the serious deployment problems. This is impractical since simplification of the deployment procedure is one of the crucial benefits of the .NET platform.
"Unlike competing components, Graphics Mill is not divided into managed and unmanaged DLLs. It is written using Managed C++, allowing us to combine both managed and unmanaged code into a single assembly", said Andrew Simontsev. "This way Graphics Mill can be deployed as easily as any native .NET assembly".
"Finally, Graphics Mill is built specifically and only for online photo processing", said Andrew Simontsev. "Competing components are built to handle many tasks but with only mediocre results. Graphics Mill is built to be the very best online photo processor available."
Graphics Mill 3.0 beta testing is underway, and the Aurigma team intends on releasing it into production beginning Fall 2004.
