I currently have Image Uploader 2.x for Java, (purchased about 18 months ago) and have had numerous problems with it since day one. I am looking at switching it to the activex version, as java seems to be buggy on certain user's computers. All users for my site are on Windows / IE7.

My question: Is it an easy switch? Can I just replace it or update it? Is there a java update version that works better than before?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Hello Greg,

You have two options to upgrade to ActiveX version:
  • First you purchase Upgrade Image Uploader - from Java 2 to Java 5 and then buy Cross-grade from Image Uploader Java 5 to Dual 5.
  • Just purchase Image Uploader ActiveX 5.
Technically you will need to put cab file on your site, replace iuembed.js, and update your script embedding Image Uploader on your page. It is rather easy.

You can try Image Uploader Java 5, it contains a lot of improvements and bug fixes. You may read about new version in What's new artice.

Sincerely yours,
Dmitry Sevostyanov.
