When opening some multi-page TIFF files with Aurigma GraphicsMill .NET 4.0 or 4.1 I get "unable to open media due to damage" when loading the second page/frame. The TIFF files open fine with Windows Imaging and other programs though.

The exception is thrown by frame.GetBitmap.

Addition: loading that TIFF file with System.Drawing.Image works fine as well (for all pages).

Hello,

I tried to reproduce the error using our test images, but without any result. Could you submit case with file which cannot be open with Graphics Mill for .NET?

Best wishes, Alex.

I already sent the file to Tamila Ashrafova 2 days ago, but haven't heard from her since. Can you get the file from her or should I send it again?

Hello,

We have received your email with TIFF image and confirm the problem with that file. Thanks. This support case is forwarded to Graphics Mill team and they will contact you as soon as possible.

Sincerely yours,
Dmitry Sevostyanov.

Hello,

It seems that the file is really corrupted - I always got "unexpected end of file" error in the internals of the TIFF decoding algorithm. However this error occurs on the last scanline of the file, so you cannot see this when other viewers show you partilally loaded image.

Best wishes, Alex.

Hi Alex,

but can't you just ignore those errors or add an option to do so? As the standard .NET image class loads the image just fine, I added that as a workaround, but I'm not too happy about it, as you might imagine. And other viewers don't complain about the file either.

Btw, the file comes from a fax to email service and has been generated that way, there was no error while transmitting it.

Regards,
Olaf

Hello Olaf,

I have a talk with our developers - most probably this feature will be included in future releases. Unfortunately it is already too late to include it into the upcoming Graphics Mill 4.5 for .NET release.

But I'm a little worried about the fact that there was no error during transmitting from fax to email service. Please, could you submit case with a couple of any other fax images for test purposes?

Best wishes, Alex.
