When I have upgraded my Image Uploader from 4.0.47.0 to 4.7 I have a big problem
We mount network drive, and upload the images from the folders inside When we browse into the folder which contains the images (usually we have 500 images in 1 folder) The preview thumbnail generation in the pane will start, but it is extremely slow It just like the I.E. hang, but the image uploader is displaying the images slowly
So, we try to remove the 4.7 and go back to 4.0 version but we find that, once the machine has upgraded, we cannot install 4.0 again in the I.E., it will always show a message: "Image Uploader ActiveX control is necessary to upload your files quickly and easily. You will be able to select multiple images in user-friendly interface instead of clumsy input fields with Browse button. Installation will take up to few minutes, please be patient. To install Image Uploader, please reload page and select "Yes" button when you will see control installation dialog."
We dont know what we can do, but we need to upload a lot of images every day. If it is difficult to identify the problem, can you suggest some short term solutions quickly? E.g. maybe a stand alone installer of 4.0.47 version, so that I can bypass the I.E to install it .

Hi,
Do you mean that we can't fall back to the previous version after upgrade to 4.7?

Hello, Image Uploader 4.x before 4.7 had a serious security bug that's why we have created Image Uploader 4.7 which is available to be downloaded only because of security fix. Image Uploader 4.7 has a killbit list of the CLSIDs which cannot be used any more due to security reasons. You can read about this problem in the following blog posts: Image Uploader is reborn - better security and new CLSIDs; Official security bulletin.
Sincerely yours, Alex Makhov

I have got the update from the email, and the speed problem of the browse folder is fixed, thank you
But then, my users complain for another problem When they browsed into a folder, then click the "add all" button The upload pane (we use 3 pane mode) will show a "loading files" message and the IE freeze for about 10 seconds (for 500 photos inside), while the old 4.0 version nearly does not take any time I have also tried, and I think they are correct So, I want to ask if it is a bug and would be fixed in the coming release?

I saw that the microsoft active killbits update was released this morning I want to know, is it the cab file that I've got before is the latest release version of ImageUpload 4.7?
Also, where can I download a stand alone installer of it? I have nearly 500 pc to deploy, and most of user dont have the admin right on their machine it is quite difficult to install it one by one

Hello, You can read about getting version number in Revealing Image Uploader Version Number article. As for installation, you can configure Automatic Update as described in Updating Image Uploader on the Client Side. ImageUploader 4.7 is available for downloading in Legacy Download section.

Eugene,
What I mean is, I've got a 4.7.5.0 cab file from you, which fixed a bug I found on 4.7.0.0 that I mentioned above in this thread My question is, is it the latest? and can I get a stand alone installer of it
Automatic Update does not work while user dont have write permission in windows directory But we have our own method to deploy and execute the installer, that's why I ask for it

Sorry for the long delay.
Yes, IU 4.7.5 is the latest, but it wasn’t published yet.
We sent you standalone installer for IU 4.7.5 to the same e-mail as the last time. Please let me know if there will be any problems.
Best regards, Eugene Kosmin.
