Pricing & Licensing

Graphics Mill is now offered in two editions: Standard and Pro. We recommend viewing the relevant features comparison chart. After purchasing Graphics Mill™, you will get a license key which will remove the demo version limitation. Below, you will find a brief overview and guideline for choosing the licenses to buy. We also recommend that you read all the licensing conditions and provisions in the full-text EULA. If none of these options suits you, please contact our sales department at sales@aurigma.com.

IMPORTANT:

We recommend downloading the PDF files with wizardlike licensing flowcharts for desktop application licensing and server application licensing. You can then print them and draw your own licensing path on the paper.

Licensing Options

  • SDK License

One SDK license grants you a non-exclusive right to install and use the Software on a single workstation with one developer and distribute it as a part of your applications (royalty free). Your application must be end-user software (rather than library, component or some other software intended to be a part of another application). The Software must not be used in server applications. You must mention somewhere in documentation or "About" section that you use the Software and provide link to Aurigma website (www.aurigma.com). Users of your applications cannot develop their applications using the Software until they purchase license for themselves. This fact must be mentioned in the license agreement of your application.

  • Server Deployment License

To deploy an application which utilizes Graphics Mill on a Server, you need to purchase a server deployment license for each server (and for each server CPU for servers with over 2 CPUs). If the Server runs in a development, quality assurance, or staging environment under certain circumstances, you can request free licenses from Aurigma support team.

One Server Deployment License grants you a non-exclusive right to install and use the Software on a single server. You may transfer the software to another computer only if you delete the previous installation. To buy a server license for development purposes, you will also need to buy an SDK license.

  • Desktop Application Distribution

SDK license includes royalty-free deployment license for desktop applications. However, for other kinds of applications, special deployment licensing plans apply.

Desktop application is intended to be deployed on desktops only. If this is a part of a system which is deployed both on desktops and servers, it is not a desktop application. Also, if the software is distributed bundled with some specific hardware, it is also not a desktop application.

If your application does not fall under the client-server application or desktop application definitions, please submit a relevant query to our sales team.

  • Kiosk / Point of Sale License

If you are building a kiosk application (i.e. target computer is accessible in a public place by multiple people) with Graphics Mill, special deployment licensing conditions are required. If so, contact our sales persons at sales@aurigma.com.

When to Purchase Multiple Licenses?

A single SDK License can be used for any number of applications developed by one and the same person. For several developers, you need as many licenses as many developers will use Graphics Mill™ in their work (regardless of number of applications you are going to use Graphics Mill™ in).

For Server Deployment License, the number of required licenses does not depend on the number of developers engaged in your project. You need as many licenses as many servers you are going to deploy the product on.

Upgrading

If you upgrade to Graphics Mill 5.0 Pro or Standard edition from the previous version (4.x), you pay only 60% of the full license cost. Also, all customers who bought Graphics Mill on April 2, 2008 (or later) are eligible for a free upgrade to version 5.0 (any edition). This offer expires on June 3, 2008.
