# converter.thumbnailApplyCrop Property HTML5/Flash Uploader JavaScript

Supported technologies:

Gets or sets a value indicating whether the thumbnail should be cropped.

## Syntax

```
$au.imageUploaderFlash({
    converters : [
        {
            //...other params...
            thumbnailApplyCrop: true,
            //...other params...
        }
    ]
})
```

```
$au.imageUploaderFlash('uploaderID').converters().set(index).thumbnailApplyCrop(value);
value = $au.imageUploaderFlash('uploaderID').converters().get(index).thumbnailApplyCrop();
```

### Property Value

Type: **Boolean**

If `true`, the thumbnail is cropped using the specified crop bounds.

Default value is **true**.

## Remarks

In order to set a crop rectangle, select a region in the image editor or use the [file.cropBounds](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_P_J_$au_file_cropBounds.htm.md) property.

This property makes sense only if the [mode](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_P_J_$au_converter_mode.htm.md) property has the `Thumbnail` value and [thumbnailFitMode](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_P_J_$au_converter_thumbnailFitMode.htm.md) is not `Crop`.
