# messages.maxFileSizeExceeded Property HTML5/Flash Uploader JavaScript

Gets or sets a message which states that a user tries to select a file that is too big.

## Syntax
 
```
$au.imageUploaderFlash({
    messages: {
        //...other params...
        maxFileSizeExceeded: "Size of '{0}' is too large to be added. Maximum allowed size is {1}.",
        //...other params...
    }
})
```

```
$au.imageUploaderFlash('uploaderID').messages().maxFileSizeExceeded(value);
value = $au.imageUploaderFlash('uploaderID').messages().maxFileSizeExceeded();
```
 
### Property Value
 
Type: **String**
 
The message which states that a user tries to select a file which is too big (i.e. the file size exceeds the [maxFileSize](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_P_J_$au_restrictions_maxFileSize.htm.md) value). To disable this message, set it to an empty string. It can contain the following placeholder:
 
- *[name]*
    - replaced by the name of the file which cannot be added.

Default value is **"Size of '{0}' is too large to be added. Maximum allowed size is {1}."**.

## Remarks
 
This property is necessary for localization of HTML5/Flash Uploader.
