# UploadPane.SortOrder Property HTML5/Flash Uploader PHP

Gets or sets a value specifying whether items should be sorted ascendantly or descendantly when you use [SortMode](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_P_P_UploadPane_SortMode.htm.md) is used.

## Syntax
 
```
public function getSortOrder() {
}

public function setSortOrder($value) {
}
```
 
### Property Value
 
Type: **string**
 
The sort direction for the upload pane.
 
The following values are supported:
 
| Value | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Asc** | Items are sorted ascendantly (smallest to largest). |
| **Desc** | Items are sorted descendantly (largest to smallest). |
 
Default value is **"Asc"**.

## Remarks
 
Items are automatically arranged when they are added to the upload list. You can use the [sort(String, String)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/FH_M_J_$au_uploadPane_sort_2_393e8f3d.htm.md) method to force items to be sorted with the required mode and order.
