# messages.fileNameNotAllowed Property ActiveX/Java Uploader JavaScript

Gets or sets a message which states that a user tries to select a file, the name of which is not allowed.

## Syntax
 
```
$au.uploader({
    messages: {
        //...other params...
        fileNameNotAllowed: "The file '[name]' cannot be selected. The website doesn't accept files of this type.",
        //...other params...
    }
})
```
 
### Property Value
 
Type: **String**
 
The message which states that a user tries to select a file the name of which is not allowed (i.e. the file name does not match [fileMask](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_restrictions_fileMask.htm.md), or matches [deniedFileMask](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_restrictions_deniedFileMask.htm.md)). It can contain the following placeholder:
 
- *[name]*
    - replaced by the name of the file which cannot be added.

Default value is **"The file '[name]' cannot be selected. The website doesn't accept files of this type."**.

## Remarks
 
This property is necessary for localization of ActiveX/Java Uploader.
