# paneItem.showFileNameInThumbnailsView Property ActiveX/Java Uploader JavaScript

Gets or sets a value indicating whether to display filenames in the `Thumbnails` view or not.

## Syntax
 
```
$au.uploader({
    paneItem: {
        //...other params...
        showFileNameInThumbnailsView: false,
        //...other params...
    }
})
```

```
$au.uploader('uploaderID').paneItem().showFileNameInThumbnailsView(value);
value = $au.uploader('uploaderID').paneItem().showFileNameInThumbnailsView();
```
 
### Property Value
 
Type: **Boolean**
 
If `true`, filenames are displayed under thumbnails; otherwise, only thumbnails are shown.
 
Default value is **false**.
