# Image Editor
 
ActiveX/Java Uploader comes with a built-in image editor allowing users to preview and edit their images as well as attach text descriptions. Image editor is enabled by default and can be launched by clicking the [image editor control](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/additional-controls-and-indicators.htm.md) or by selecting the corresponding context menu item[EditText (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_Aurigma_ImageUploader_ContextMenu_EditText.htm.md)[EditText (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_P_ContextMenu_EditText.htm.md)[editText (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_contextMenu_editText.htm.md).

Image editor supports two image-editing operations, namely, rotation and cropping. Rotation can be performed by clicking the **Rotate** button. To crop an image you should select the desired area using the rectangle rubberband and click **Crop** to apply transformation and continue editing or Save and close to apply crop and exit the image editor.

All its buttons, text labels, and colors are customizable via the ImageEditor[ImageEditor (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_T_Aurigma_ImageUploader_ImageEditor.htm.md)[ImageEditor (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_T_P_ImageEditor.htm.md)[imageEditor (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_T_J_$au_imageEditor.htm.md) properties. If you do not need to provide your users with an ability to edit their images, you can disable it by setting the Uploader.EnableImageEditor[EnableImageEditor (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_Aurigma_ImageUploader_Uploader_EnableImageEditor.htm.md)[EnableImageEditor (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_P_Uploader_EnableImageEditor.htm.md)[enableImageEditor (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_uploader_enableImageEditor.htm.md) property to `false`. Additionally, the image editor functionality can be partially disabled via the following properties:

- ImageEditor.EnableCrop[EnableCrop (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_Aurigma_ImageUploader_ImageEditor_EnableCrop.htm.md)[EnableCrop (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_P_ImageEditor_EnableCrop.htm.md)[enableCrop (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_imageEditor_enableCrop.htm.md) enables or disables the cropping functionality. If it is `false`, the rectangular area cannot be selected and **Crop** and **Cancel crop** buttons are hidden.
- Uploader.EnableRotation[EnableRotation (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_Aurigma_ImageUploader_Uploader_EnableRotation.htm.md)[EnableRotation (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_P_Uploader_EnableRotation.htm.md)[enableRotation (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_uploader_enableRotation.htm.md) enables or disables the rotation functionality. If it is `false`, the **Rotate** button is hidden. Note that this property affects the [rotation control](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/additional-controls-and-indicators.htm.md), too.
- Uploader.EnableDescriptionEditor[EnableDescriptionEditor (ASP.NET)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_Aurigma_ImageUploader_Uploader_EnableDescriptionEditor.htm.md)[EnableDescriptionEditor (PHP)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_P_Uploader_EnableDescriptionEditor.htm.md)[enableDescriptionEditor (JavaScript)](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/JA_P_J_$au_uploader_enableDescriptionEditor.htm.md) enables or disables the adding description ability. If it is `false` the description field is hidden. Note that this property affects the [description editor control](https://www.aurigma.com/docs/us8/additional-controls-and-indicators.htm.md), too.
