Client Side

Operating Systems

  • Windows XP/Vista/7 (including East Asian editions)
  • MacOS 10.5 or later
  • *NIX systems with Java Runtime Environment

Browsers

  • Internet Explorer (for Windows) 7 or later and Internet Explorer 64-bit. ActiveX controls and JavaScript should be enabled in the browser settings.

  • A browser which supports Java applets with JRE 1.5 or later:

    • Any Mozilla-family browser, including Firefox 2 or later, Netscape, and others
    • Safari for Mac OS
    • Google Chrome
    • Opera

    LiveConnect availability (required for some advanced features, e.g. event handling).

    Java applets and JavaScript should be enabled in the browser settings.

Note

Some Mac browsers require Java Embedding Plug-in to be JRE 1.5-compatible.

The following browsers do not require this plug-in:

  • Safari
  • Firefox version 2.0 or later

Internet Explorer for Mac is not supported (no JRE 1.5 compatibility).

Server Side

To sucessfully use File Downloader you must have a fully operational web server (for example, Apache or IIS).

Remarks

Aurigma File Downloader includes a special helper JavaScript file that automatically detects the user's browser and checks if File Downloader can be used.
