New Java update has been released yesterday (Jan 14, 2014). If you are curious what that have changed there this time, you can take a look into an official changelog.

The most notable part is:
Changes to Security Slider
- Block Self-Signed and Unsigned applets on High Security Setting
- Require Permissions Attribute for High Security Setting
- Warn users of missing Permissions Attributes for Medium Security Setting
What does it mean?
Do you remember my previous post where I listed changes Oracle made to Java 7 Update 45? In particular, they forced us to add so-called Permission Attribute to the latest version. Without that attribute, the security dialog was looking as follows:

Now all applets without this attribute looks like this:

Fortunately, all versions of Upload Suite newer than 8.0.48 already have this Permissions attribute. I have just installed Java 7 Update 51 and tried the latest uploader and it works perfectly.
So if you did not update your Upload Suite to the latest version, it is a high time to do it now.
